Guidelines for the JAG Blog

Some Guidelines...

The JAG blog is a space where you can learn about, participate in, and contribute to the conversation about equity for diverse communities. The goal is shared ownership and mutual engagement.

Here are some general rules of thumb for how we'll develop the conversation together:

JAG Launches New Website

Welcome to the new website of the Joint Affinity Groups!

It relaunches JAG as a proactive, engaging, and stronger collective of identity-based affinity groups that pursues more equity for diverse communities. JAG advances, aligns, and activates the work of many different groups. The new website represents the virtual space where all of us can come together to share resources and ideas and develop our work together.

Hello and welcome!

Voila! Here is the JAG members only section, where we can connect and have the offline discussions and information sharing that can supplement our meetings.

Nationwide Convenings Lead to Possibilities for 2012

During September and October of 2011, national JAG hosted the first-ever convenings between it and local networks of joint affinity groups in four regions of the country: the Bay Area, LA, NY, and the Twin Cities.

The four convenings have developed several follow-up opportunities to build stronger connections in 2012. National JAG intends to develop liaisons between it and local groups, coordinate one or more joint conference calls, and potentially share resources and other information through the JAG website.

JAG Carries Momentum into 2012 with Annual Meeting

The six partners of the Joint Affinity Groups (JAG) approached their annual meeting in San Francisco in October with urgency and excitement.

JAG partners (Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy, Association of Black Foundation Executives, Hispanics in Philanthropy, Funders for LGBTQ Issues, Native Americans in Philanthropy, and Women’s Funding Network) have been conducting monthly conference calls during 2011 to plan a resurgence for the network.

How to Use the Members Only Section

The new JAG website is pretty easy to use. We don't all need to be on a phone call together to connect and move the work forward. Here's a rundown of the functions and how to use them (where applicable):
