How to Use the Members Only Section

The new JAG website is pretty easy to use. We don't all need to be on a phone call together to connect and move the work forward. Here's a rundown of the functions and how to use them (where applicable):

Members Only Home

This is the first page that will appear after you log into the members only section of the website. It provides a rundown of recent director's notes, recent blog posts (this includes both the director's notes and postings from the public blog), active forum topics, and comments. You're able to access these immediately by clicking on the headline. It's your shortcut to new postings and changes that have happened since you last logged in.

Director's Notes

These are my quick announcements to you of news, changes, general happenings, and so forth. They're pretty self-explanatory. Just click on the title and read (take action, too, if there's a request for you to do so). You comment on the posts by filling in the comment field below the posts.

JAG Calendar

This is your one-stop calendar for all things JAG. It'll have listings of JAG meeting dates and times, events, deadlines, and events of JAG partners. It's also pretty straightforward. If you'd like to add an event, e-mail it to Paul or post it in the "general forum" (see below), and Paul can post it.

Forums

The forums are where ANY of us can begin or respond to a conversation on ANY topic. Currently, there are five forums organized by JAG's work  (I can add more, just ask me):

  • Men and Boys of Color: Discussions related to MBOC work, whether collaborative or your own group's work
  • Leadership: Discussions related to any work on leadership, whether collaborative or your own group's work
  • D5 Coalition: Discussions related to JAG's work on D5 or any other ideas related to D5
  • Events: Discussions related to events JAG is planning, your events, or other events you're curious about
  • General: Discussions related to JAG's operations (such as partner group, working group, or steering committee work), structure, or anything not currently covered by one of the other forums

To comment on a topic, click on the forum and then click on the topic you want to comment on. Then click in the comment box and start writing.

Shared Documents

This is the area where you can share things with other partner group members. It's not only for documents but other items you want to share, such as reports or pictures,

To look at something that's posted, just click on the item to open it up.

This is where you can change your user name and password.
